9th Nov 2020 – Zamil Steel Buildings Vietnam Co., Ltd. has donated 4,000 square meters of panels, with a total value of 350 million Vietnamese dongs (VND) (around USD 15,000), to the district of Thang Binh, Quang Nam province to support the schools damaged by storm No. 9 (Molave).
Storm no.9 (Molave) recently caused severe damages to Thang Binh, a small district in the central province Quang Nam of Vietnam. The whole district had around 78 Kindergartens, Primary Schools, and Secondary Schools hit by storm No. 9, damaging many classrooms, working rooms, school buildings, garages, and toilets, with a total damage value estimated at nearly VND 8.5 billion. The heaviest one is Mac Dinh Chi Primary School (VND 600 million); Vo Thi Sau Primary School (VND 450 million); Nguyen Ba Ngoc Secondary School (VND 415 million); and Chu Van An Secondary School (VND 542 million). To help students return to school as soon as possible, Zamil Steel Buildings Vietnam has donated roof panels to support these schools to replace the damaged ones.
On this occasion, Zamil Steel Vietnam met with Mr. Vo Van Hung, Chairman of Thang Binh District People’s Committee, and the government officers of Thang Binh district in a formal conversation to share the difficulties of the victims of storm No.9. The team expected the donated panels would help these schools to overcome the challenges and difficulties, so that teachers and students can return to teaching and learning normally. In response, on behalf of The People’s Committee of Thang Binh, Chairman Vo Van Hung conveyed his sincere thanks to the kind gesture of Zamil Steel Vietnam and assured the team that all these panels would be assigned to the District’s Education and Training Office to effectively and properly allocate them to the damaged schools.
