This highly regarded annual event, organized by Vietnam Economic Times and Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, seeks to recognize the outstanding achievements of foreign-invested enterprises and their contributions to the Vietnamese economy. The 2024 award ceremony was co-hosted by the Hai Phong People’s Committee and was attended by over 300 participants.
Dignitaries present at the event included Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Tran Hong Ha, Secretary of Hai Phong City, Mr. Le Tien Chau, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Nguyen Minh Hang, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Mr. Le Cong Thanh, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of War Invalids and Social Affairs, State Bank of Vietnam, VCCI, representatives of diplomatic agencies (embassies, consulates), leaders of 25 provinces and cities in the Northern region, along with foreign business associations, domestic industry business associations, and nearly 300 businesses in Vietnam.
The theme for the 2024 Golden Dragon Awards was “Vietnam’s Pathways to a Green and Sustainable Economy: From Government Policies to Localities and Businesses’ Solutions Initiatives.” The awards program focused on surveying and reviewing pioneering businesses in green transformation, circular transformation, ensuring low carbon emissions in production, business, and corporate governance processes, and paying attention to ESG implementation. Pioneering enterprises announced their roadmap towards net-zero, contributing to the goal of successfully implementing Vietnam’s Net-Zero commitment by 2050.
This year’s event received more than 486 nominations and registrations to participate in the awards program. Through two rounds of rigorous survey and review, the Golden Dragon Awards 2024 announced and honored the top 50 typical FDI enterprises in six industry groups, including processing and manufacturing industry, digital technology & digital services, financial and insurance services, infrastructure, industrial park and real estate development, education, and healthcare, and agriculture, food, and beverages.
