Raised in 2000 by the Vietnamese Government, the “National Blood Donation Day” is celebrated annually on 7th April for encouraging voluntary blood donation.
In supporting this event, on 10thApril 2015, Zamil Steel Buildings Vietnam has arranged for staff from Head office and Noi Bai factory to go for blood donation at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Hanoi (NIHBT). Joining this event were 20 staff from different departments including: QC, Finance, Engineering, Production, etc.
As the figures provided by the NIHBT, recently in the Tet holiday 2015, the amount of A-group and O-group blood reserved in the Institute have exceed the usage amount. This also means that a lot of patients will not get the chance to receive blood transfusion and might be put in danger conditions. Considering the situation, blood donation is truly a meaningful action that needs to be encouraged. Among ZSV’s staff attending this event, many of them have been regular blood donators for years. “I have donated blood 9 times in India, and this is my first time donating blood in Vietnam. I think this is a very meaningful activity, people should help each other” – said ZSV’s Quality Control Manager.
